A short break for people who would rather learn something than tick something off. The base is a working coffee estate outside Madikeri, and the centrepiece is a morning walk through it with the planter: arabica and robusta under rosewood and silver oak, pepper vines up the trunks, and the difference between them explained where they grow rather than on a board.
That is followed by a cupping — six cups, the same rules a buyer uses, no expertise assumed. Most people leave able to tell a washed arabica from a robusta, which is more than the average cafe menu can manage.
The rest is deliberately light. Dubare on the Kaveri, where the forest department camp lets you be around elephants at bath time in the early morning; Abbey Falls, which is running properly only after the rains; and Talakaveri on Brahmagiri at 1,276 m, the ritual source of the Kaveri, on the way out. Two nights, no early alarms except the one you choose.
Runs in: October, November, December, January, February, March. Outside that window we do not sell the trip rather than run it badly.
3 days, in the order you will walk or drive them.
Seat counts are live. A date leaves sale the moment it fills — we do not overbook and sort it out later.

A planner calls you back, no obligation.
Answered from this departure's own numbers. Anything not here, the desk will tell you straight.
Each one is linked to a booking on one of the departures above.
We were at the river by half seven and had the elephants and their handlers almost to ourselves for an hour. Abbey Falls in January is a trickle, which the team told us in advance rather than pretending otherwise. Kodava food at the bungalow — pandi curry, akki roti — was the surprise of the weekend.
The cupping session is the thing. Six cups, no jargon, and by the end I could reliably pick the robusta out. The estate walk in harvest week with pulping going on in the yard made the whole process make sense. Two nights was enough for a weekend and I did not feel rushed once.
