Overview

Two provinces facing each other across Phang Nga Bay, with the boat days as the spine of the week. Three nights on Phuket for the bay, the Old Town and Phi Phi; two nights at Railay in Krabi, which is cut off by cliffs from the mainland and reachable only by long-tail, which is precisely why it is worth the transfer.

The Phang Nga day is the best of them. Sea kayaks go into the hongs — collapsed cave chambers inside the limestone towers, open to the sky, entered through tunnels that are only passable at the right state of tide. Koh Panyee, the Muslim stilt village built out over the water against a cliff face, is lunch. Nobody is asked to paddle solo; each kayak has a boatman.

Old Phuket Town gets a proper half-day rather than a photo stop — Sino-Portuguese shophouses along Thalang and Dibuk roads, the Sunday walking street if the dates fall right, and the best food on the island. Railay at the end is low-rise, car-free and has the climbing walls rising straight out of the sand; an introductory climbing session is available for anyone who wants it.

Price is land-only. International flights and the Phuket–Krabi road transfer within the itinerary are handled differently: the transfer is included, the flights are not.

  1. 1Arrive Phuket — Old Town in the eveningDay 1
    Met at Phuket international and transferred to the west coast, about forty-five minutes. Afternoon on the beach, then into Old Phuket Town in the evening for the shophouse streets and dinner on Thalang Road. Briefing on boat days, tides and what to leave in the room.
  2. 2Phang Nga Bay — sea caves and Koh PanyeeDay 2
    A full day on a big-boat-and-kayak trip into Phang Nga Bay. Limestone towers, the hongs entered by tunnel at low water with a boatman paddling, the sea stack at Khao Phing Kan, and lunch at the stilt village of Koh Panyee. Back by late afternoon. Evening free.
  3. 3Phi Phi islands by speedboatDay 3
    Speedboat south to the Phi Phi group: Maya Bay, subject to the seasonal closures the national park applies, Pileh lagoon, Viking Cave and two snorkelling stops on the reef. Lunch on Phi Phi Don. Returns mid-afternoon; the crossing is choppy if the wind is up and seasickness tablets are worth taking beforehand.
  4. 4Phuket to Krabi — Tiger Cave, then long-tail to RailayDay 4
    Road transfer around the head of the bay, roughly three hours, with a stop at the Tiger Cave temple outside Krabi town — the 1,237 steps to the summit shrine are optional and steep, and the view is the reward. On to Ao Nang, then a fifteen-minute long-tail to Railay East. Sunset at Phra Nang beach.
  5. 5Railay — the four islands, or a day doing nothingDay 5
    A half-day long-tail to the four islands off Ao Nang — Chicken Island, Tup, Poda and Phra Nang cave beach — with the sandbar between them walkable at low tide. Afternoon free: an introductory rock-climbing session on the Railay walls is available, or the viewpoint and lagoon scramble above Railay East.
  6. 6Depart KrabiDay 6
    Long-tail back to Ao Nang after breakfast, then a thirty-minute transfer to Krabi international. Trip ends there; onward connections from Krabi run via Bangkok. Guests flying out of Phuket instead are transferred by road at no extra cost — tell us at booking.

How many people will be on it?

Are flights included in the price?
No. Every international price on this site is land-only: ₹47,500 per person covers the ground arrangements listed above, from the start point onward. Your international flights, visa or entry fees and travel insurance are yours to book, and they are itemised in the "Not included" column so there is no ambiguity. Book the flight after your seats are confirmed, not before.
What does an Indian passport need for Phuket & Krabi?
Indian passport holders currently enter Thailand visa-free under the exemption scheme in force since 2024, for stays of up to 60 days. The scheme is renewed periodically rather than permanent, so confirm status close to departure. All arrivals must complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card online before landing. Entry rules change without much notice, so treat this as the position at the time of writing and confirm it close to your departure — the destination page carries the full note, and the desk will tell you what the current requirement is when you book.
Can I hold seats before I pay?
Yes. Pick a date, enter who is travelling, and the seats come off the live count for 15 minutes while you decide. Nothing is charged during the hold, and if you walk away it releases itself and the seats go back on sale.
How do I pay, and what happens after?
Online at the end of the booking flow, or over the phone with the trips desk during working hours if you would rather not pay on the web. Either way you get a booking reference, and the joining pack for your departure follows from the desk.
What if I have to cancel?
There is no blanket policy printed here, because permits, mountain lodges and internal flights are paid forward at different points on different departures — and quoting a single number would be a promise we could not keep on every date. The terms that apply to your departure are in your joining pack, and the desk will put them in writing before you pay if you ask.

  • The Phang Nga day and Railay are five stars. The Phi Phi speedboat day is the one where you share the lagoon with forty other boats, which the team did warn us about beforehand. Sea was rough on the way back — take the tablets they tell you to take. Old Phuket Town in the evening was an unexpected favourite.

  • Going into the hongs through a tunnel you have to lie flat in the kayak to clear, and coming out inside a collapsed cave open to the sky with monkeys on the walls — nothing else on the trip came close. Railay at the end, with no cars and no road in, was the right way to finish.
